Mommy and Daddy Are Here! Evan Happy!

Ga Ga says that today is the day!  Evan asked Ga Ga what that meant. Ga Ga said that it is the day when Mommy and Daddy come and so does Auntie Andrea and Uncle Jeff.  Uncle Mark and Auntie Stacie and Colby are coming tomorrow.  Ga Ga said she had a lot to do so Evan helped Ga Ga make the bed.  The rest of the morning Evan hung around with Grandpa so Ga Ga could do some cooking.

Evan can do it Ga Ga.

Grandpa showed Evan how to play the guitar.

Ga Ga made a cake to congratulate Mommy and Daddy for being married 6 years, and Uncle Mark and Aunt Stacie for another cousin-to-be for Evan,
and Uncle Jeff and Aunt Andrea on their new apartment.
Grandpa and Ga Ga are happy for them all.

Then after Evan's nap....Evan waited and waited and waited for Mommy and Daddy.  Finally............

Mommy and Daddy came.  Evan was sooooo happy to see Mommy and Daddy that Evan hugged and kissed them
and then kissed and hugged them again.

Hold Evan Daddy.

Then Evan wanted to show Mommy and Daddy
what Evan has been doing all week
with Grandpa and Ga Ga.

Ga Ga and Grandpa brought Mommy, Daddy and Evan presents from Alaska.  After that, Evan had to go to bed.
Aunt Andrea and Uncle Jeff were coming;
but Evan would have to wait until the morning to see them.
Uncle Mark, Aunt Stacie and Colby will be coming tomorrow.
Evan can't wait to play with cousin Colby.

Evan's Forever B-l-o-w-i-ng Bubbles, Pretty Bubbles in the Air

Mommy and Daddy,

Did I tell you Mommy and Daddy that Evan goes with Grandpa on the Ranger every morning to get the paper from a box at the end of the road?  When we go back to the house we eat breakfast.  Ga Ga makes Evan's breakfast and Grandpa always has cereal that has Tony the Tiger on the box.  Grandpa asked if Evan wanted some of Grandpa's cereal; but Evan likes Ga Ga's pancakes or oatmeal with bananas in it.

Ga Ga had to go shopping again.  Grandpa and Evan did some things to get ready for the party this weekend.  Grandpa brought up the chairs and Evan helped Grandpa wash them with a squishy sponge full of soap.  Ga Ga was so happy that we washed them because they were very dirty.  Then Grandpa put the small swing up in the garage for Colby and Evan to swing on this weekend.  Evan has been in the swing a bunch of times today because when Colby comes, Evan will have to share the swing with Colby.
Evan is pointing up because Evan wants to go higher.  Evan not scared.  Evan thinks Grandpa should have put this swing up sooner, it's fun swinging.  When Evan gets bigger, Evan can ride the big swing down by the shed that is on a long, long rope.  Grandpa told Evan that Daddy, Uncle Mark, and Auntie Andrea played on that swing when they were little; but not as little as Evan.  Grandpa has their names engraved on the swing to remember how much fun they had on the big swing.  They would swing real high and smile.  Evan can't wait to swing real high and smile too.
Grandpa and Evan were in the playhouse and something in there reminded Evan of bubbles.  Grandpa called Ga Ga at the store and asked her to buy some bubbles for Colby and Evan this weekend.  As you can see, Evan could not wait.  See the big bubble Evan blew Mommy and Daddy?  Evan is good at blowing bubbles.
Ga Ga and Evan went for another Ranger ride.  Ga Ga showed Evan this and told Evan it was a mushroom.  Ga Ga said it is not a mushroom that Evan should eat; but Ga Ga thinks it's pretty.  Ga Ga has lots of pictures of different mushrooms.  One time Ga Ga said she found a Morell mushroom, which is a hard mushroom to find and is very expensive to buy.  Ga Ga didn't eat it, she just took a picture of it.
Ga Ga thinks Evan got a mosquito bite on Evan's leg.  It doesn't hurt Mommy but there's a bump and it itches.  Evan's leg is pretty dirty too Mommy.  That's why Ga Ga has to give Evan a bath everynight; but Evan doesn't mind at all.  Ga Ga said tomorrow is the day you and Daddy are coming to Grandpa and Ga Ga's house.  Ga Ga and Grandpa will have to share Evan with Mommy and Daddy like Evan has to share the swing with Colby.  See you tomorrow Mommy and Daddy.  I love you.

Tractors, Tractors Everywhere!

Mommy and Daddy,

Oh....Ga Ga wasn't happy when she saw this mommy deer and two fawn eating Ga Ga's flowers.  Then the mommy deer started to eat Grandpa's cherry tree and Grandpa went out on the deck and yelled at them and they all ran away.  Later on in the day Evan saw a big turkey by the bird feeder in the front yard.  Ga Ga said that they say "gobble, gobble" but Evan already knew that.  Then the turkey ran away just like the deer.
It was a busy tractor day for Evan.  Not only did Evan get four Ranger rides today; I got to ride the Farmall Cub when Grandpa was done grading the driveway.  Later Ga Ga took me down to the shed to sit on all the tractors like I did with Grandpa the other day.  Ga Ga looked so surprised when I sat on one of Grandpa's tractors and I said Ford.  Grandpa sure has a lot of tractors and maybe when Evan gets older Evan can drive them without Grandpa sitting on the fender.  Evan can't wait!
Evan likes this tractor that Grandpa calls a Cub.  Grandpa won it a long time ago and plays with it all the time.
This is the Ford in case you don't know Mommy and Daddy.  Grandpa drove one like this when he was a little boy on the farm.
The green and yellow ones are John Deere tractors.  This is the big one.  Grandpa says they are green for a reason... because everything about a John Deere cost a lot of money.  Funny Grandpa :-)
Grandpa said to call this one a Case tractor.
Good thing all these tractors are different colors so it's easy for Evan to remember their names.
This is Grandpa's little John Deere.  Grandpa cuts the grass with this tractor in the summer and blows snow with it in the summer.  Evan got a ride on this tractor the other day.

Ga Ga showed Evan these flowers today.  Ga Ga said that they were from our house.  They sure are pretty.  Mommy and Daddy...you will have to see them when you come to Grandpa and Ga Ga's house.

Evan played for a little while in the playhouse.  This barn had cows, horses, and pigs inside.  Ga Ga said that Daddy use to to a barn like this when he was little like Evan.
Ga Ga said that Daddy had a sandbox when he was a little boy.  Maybe when Daddy comes he can help me build things in the sand.  Mommy did you have a sandbox when you were a little girl?  Oh, that's right Mommy...you lived by the ocean in California so you had a big, big sandbox :-)  Evan funny Mommy.  Glad you called Evan today Mommy.  Ga Ga said Evan must miss you and Daddy because Evan said "Go home."  But then Evan went for another Ranger ride and Evan was happy again.  See you soon Mommy and Daddy.  Love, Evan

Evan..... the Cool Whip Shoe Designer

Mommy and Daddy,

Today, Grandpa had a surprise for Evan.  Besides our usual Ranger rides, Grandpa took me for a tractor ride on the John Deere.  Grandpa even let me drive.  When we got back Evan saw a little pool up in the rafters in the garage.  Ga Ga got it down and put water in it.  Ga Ga said the water was too cold to go swimming in it so Evan just played with the boat in the water with Evan's hands.  Ga Ga  gave me a little squirt gun that was filled with water. Evan's finger
was too short to pull the trigger.  But Mommy and Daddy...Evan figured it out.  Evan put his thumb on the trigger and could squirt the gun; but sometimes Evan would squirt Evan in the face.  Ga Ga laughed.
Evan wishes that the weather would get cooler so Evan could stay outside longer.  Ga Ga said that Evan could go in the house and play.  Evan found the cupboard with the plastic containers in it.  Ga Ga doesn't mind that I pull them out and build towers and knock them down.  Evan found something else Evan can do with the plastic Cool Whip containers...Evan can wear them as shoes and walk around the kitchen.  It was fun!  Evan wanted Ga Ga to put on the Cool Whip shoes too; but Ga Ga said her feet were too big.
Ga Ga...Evan help, Evan help.  Ga Ga took out the silverware from the dishwasher and showed Evan how to put the silverware in the right place in the tray.  Evan did a very good job Ga Ga said.  Now Evan can help Mommy put the silverware away at home.

Evan can get on and off the horsie without Ga Ga's help.  Ga Ga always wants to help Evan and Evan keeps reminding Ga Ga that it is Evan's turn.  Ga Ga finally caught on that that meant Evan wanted to do it without Ga Ga's help.  Ga Ga....Evan's almost 2 years old!
Evan got dress by Evan's self today.
Maybe Ga Ga does need to help Evan :-)
Evan went with Ga Ga and Grandpa to "2 For" at the Ground Round today.  It's two burgers for the price of one.  Evan ordered pizza again.  It was good!  Ga Ga saw there was a message on the phone when we got home.  Ga Ga played the message and Evan recognized the voice as "MOMMY!"  Mommy...we will be home tomorrow all day if you want to call or Skype, Evan would like to talk or see you Mommy.  Love You and Daddy too.

Everyday is a Ranger Ride Day Ga Ga and Grandpa

Mommy and Daddy,

The day started out fine with the usual morning routine.  Then Ga Ga made Evan oatmeal; but something was not the same.  Evan thinks it was too thick and everytime Evan tried to scoop it up... the bowl would move.  Evan didn't like that!  Ga Ga could see what was going on and put more milk in the oatmeal.  Evan was in a mood by then and Mommy and Daddy you know it's all downhill from there sometimes.  Nothing made Evan happy.  Ga Ga took me out of my highchair and let me cry on the floor.  Grandpa picked me up and finally got me to smile; but I got crabby again for some reason.  Ga Ga took me in the sunroom and rocked Evan.  Evan fell asleep for about an hour and so did Ga Ga.  Ga Ga and Evan woke up and both Ga Ga and Evan were in a very good mood... just smiling away.

Grandpa and Evan got the mail today and then went for a long Ranger Ride.  Later on Ga Ga told Grandpa that she was going to take Evan for another ride.  Grandpa told Ga Ga that when he was cutting the grass up on the bluff he found a whole bunch of ripe raspberries.  Grandpa told Ga Ga where they were so they could pick them.  Ga Ga and Evan  took the long way around to the raspberry patch and by the time Ga Ga and Evan got there Grandpa was already there with the other Ranger picking raspberries.  Ga Ga was laughing and Evan said...silly Grandpa.  Ga Ga , Grandpa and Evan were eating raspberries as the mosquitoes were eating Ga Ga, Grandpa, and Evan.  Ga Ga said we had to drive the Ranger faster so the mosquitoes couldn't catch us.  Check out the sunglasses on Evan's head.  Ga Ga had hers on so Evan wanted his on too.  Don't I look cool Mommy and Daddy?

It was nice talking to you today Daddy.  Evan had a big smile when Evan heard Daddy's voice.  Ga Ga asks me everyday who is coming on Friday.  Evan can now tell Ga Ga everyone's name.  Ga Ga has the crib in the other bedroom for Colby.  Ga Ga told Evan to look in the crib to see if Colby was in there yet.  Silly Ga Ga had a picture of Colby in the crib.  Evan laughed.

Are you laughing Mommy and Daddy?  Evan got in the crib and pretended to play with Colby.  Good thing Ga Ga didn't put Evan in this smaller crib because Evan put his leg up on the edge and almost climbed out all by myself.  Ga Ga couldn't believe I could lift my leg so high.  Ga Ga...never underestimate a 22 month
old :-)  Everyday Ga Ga and Grandpa have a new surprise from Evan.  Today for supper Evan wanted a bite of Ga Ga's steak.  Ga Ga didn't think Evan liked steak and Evan ended up eating about 10 small pieces.  Evan has a different name for steak though...Evan calls it sausage.

Ga Ga introduced Evan to a new movie called the "Bee Movie.".  Evan likes it a lot; but nothing will top Grandpa's movie "Up."   Mommy and Daddy...Evan think's you will like it too.  Aunt Andrea told Ga Ga about the movie "Wall E" and how good it is.  Evan, Mommy and Daddy will have to have a movie night so we can watch all of these movies.  Ga Ga and Grandpa like watching all of them with Evan.   It's bath time and then bed time for Evan.  Evan loves Mommy and Daddy (and Ga Ga and Grandpa)

Mommy and Daddy...Ga Ga and Grandpa Said "NO" to Evan!

   Mommy and Daddy,

The day started as usual: Evan smiles at Grandpa, Grandpa picks Evan up, changes Evan's diaper, and go to wake up Ga Ga (but Ga Ga can't fool Evan, Evan knows Ga Ga is pretend sleeping).  Ga Ga always laughs when Evan tickles Ga Ga and then always kisses Evan.  Grandpa told Ga Ga that Evan was talking in Evan's sleep and calling for Mommy last night.

Today was the day to spend some time with Grandpa because Ga Ga had to go shopping.  Evan and Grandpa took a long ride on the new Ranger.  Grandpa found a lot of raspberries and blackberries for Evan to eat.  Grandpa stopped the Ranger on top of the bluff and we watched the cars and trucks on the highway below.  We would have stayed longer but the mosquitoes were flying around Grandpa and Evan's head.  Grandpa took Evan to the shed and Evan got to sit on all of Grandpa's tractors again.  This time Grandpa told me all their names and their colors.  Then Ga Ga came home and Evan got another ride.

Ga Ga and Evan played in the playhouse for a little while until Ga Ga said it was too hot and we had to go in the house.  It felt like we were walking into a refrigerator when we went into Ga Ga's house.  The rest of the day was eating, reading, singing, and watching "UP" with Grandpa.  Evan showed Ga Ga that Evan can sing the ABC's and count to 11.  Ga Ga was so surprised that Evan was soooo smart!

Guess what Mommy and Daddy?  Grandpa and Ga Ga know that word that every little kid hates to hear..."NO."  Evan didn't think that Ga Ga and Grandpa knew that word; but when Evan wanted something Evan couldn't have....Ga Ga and Grandpa said "NO!"  Evan couldn't believe Evan's ears to hear that word come out of Ga Ga and Grandpa's mouth.  Evan cried and realized that training Ga Ga and Grandpa wasn't going to be as easy as Evan thought.  Ga Ga told Evan that she rather see Evan smile instead of cry and she hugged Evan.  Ga Ga and Grandpa weren't mad at Evan  and everything was happy again until the next time Evan wanted something he couldn't have. See you in five days Mommy and Daddy.

It Was a Pizza Perfect Day!

Mommy and Daddy,

Yummmmmm pancakes this morning.  Ga Ga made them and Grandpa went to the dump.  Evan calls Pa Pa...Grandpa now.  It use to be hard to say the word Grandpa; but now it is easy for Evan to say it and a lot of other words Evan couldn't say before.  Evan can say Grandma; but Evan likes saying Ga Ga and Evan thinks Grandma likes that name too because she always smiles when Evan says it.

It was nice Skyping with you this morning Mommy and Daddy.  Evan could hear you; but Evan couldn't see you...Evan could only see Grandpa and Evan.  So Evan waved at Evan and Evan waved back ;-)  Ga Ga and Grandpa are nice; but Evan misses Mommy and Daddy.  There is no one that can rough-house like Daddy and no one that can Rock-a-bye Evan like Mommy.

Grandpa read me a book this morning about a Grandpa making pizza.  Evan thought Grandpa only knew how to drive the Ranger; but Grandpa is good at reading books too.  Ga Ga has always been good about reading books to Evan; but she knows how to drive the Ranger too.  That's good because Evan gets lots of books read to him and lots of rides in the Ranger too.

Evan would like ride in both Rangers Grandpa.
Come on Grandpa.

Ga Ga showed Evan how to turn on the tractor lights.
Ga Ga has lots of surprises at her house.
Ga Ga showed Evan how to run in the rain.
It was only sprinkling so Ga Ga and Evan didn't get very wet.
The rain made a waterfall.  Evan stuck his shoe under and it made Evan's shoe all wet!
Grandpa's sister drives a big truck Mommy and Daddy.  Her name is Cathy and  she had a doggie in her big truck, he was barking at Ga Ga, Grandpa and Evan.  Grandpa said Daddy rode in Cathy's truck to California when he was a teenager.  Maybe someday Evan will ride in a big truck.
Ga Ga, Grandpa, Cathy, and Evan went to the Ground Round to eat. The waitress brought Ga Ga and Cathy a plate that was making a lot of noise.  Ga Ga said it was a fajita.  Grandpa had a big, big meatball.  Grandpa said it was a hamburger.  Evan had "PIZZA!"  Evan ate one big piece of pizza with some milk.  Ga Ga and Grandpa said that Evan was a very good boy at the restaurant.  Evan was very tired and couldn't wait to snuggle with Scout and Evan's two favorite blankies.  Nightie-Night Mommy and Daddy...
Evan loves you!
