I was worried this morning when we woke up that our motor home would be in the middle of a lake! It poured all afternoon, evening, and throughout the night. There were big puddles around the motor home; but all was well, except it was still raining!
Back on the road heading west in the rain and the fog, with the temps in the mid 30's. I'm just glad I'm in the 21st century, riding in a nice, warm vehicle instead of the 19th century when people rode in covered wagons. They sure were strong people... just trying to carry out their dreams. This is as close to a covered wagon as I want to be....
As we climb in elevation, our temperature drops to near freezing. We all know what happens to rain when it freezes..."SNOW!" Thank goodness it was light... with only a little accumulation on the grassy areas.
We bypassed most of the tourist attractions on I90 from Minnesota & South Dakota to Buffalo, Wyoming. We have seen them many times in our years of travel. They're always in our thoughts as we pass them by, reliving their memories once again...Badlands, Bear Country, Mt. Rushmore, Devils Tower, Yellowstone & all those fun little gifts shops we couldn't seem to pass up.
Just one more shiny rock... please?
We're staying at a campground in Buffalo, Wyoming. We're practically in town, which is nice because we can get out and about by foot to check nearby sites & restaurants. Buffalo is at the foot of the Bighorn Mountains, which we can see from the windows of our motor home. Nice view! It's still a little foggy so a picture would not do the view justice. Here's a picture of the neat place we ate at...
"Bozeman Trail Steak House."
Tomorrow means we have to cross those Bighorn Mountains to get to Cody, Wyoming. We can't take the highway we planned on taking tomorrow because it's not open yet for the season. There has been some snowfall in the Bighorns today & maybe tonight... I hope the sun comes out and does some melting.
"Motor home>Snow>Mountains>Me=short nails!"
Hoping for warmer weather for you tomorrow on your travels. It's all rain and yuck here, so you're not missing anyting.
